| Jewels
of Clay |
| Description: |

www.jewelsofclay.com
|
| |
Gallery
of Mata Ortiz, Acoma and Native American pottery and works of art.
|
| |
Purpose: |
| |
Web
site to provide a showcase for selected art works and accept orders.
The site was not designed to be a simple catalog, but mainly a sampling
of the art and information site without being 'in your face' about purchasing.
|
| Budget: |
PC
Mojo doesn't disclose budgets except in very general terms. This web
site was published for under $1,500.
|
| Web
Site Size: |
Small.
The site has several information pages and pages for roughly 20 works
of art.
|
| The
PC Mojo Solution: |
 |
All
original graphics designed in earth tones with logo fonts beveled
and enhanced to convey the feel of wet clay. Petroglyh images are
sprinkled throughout the site and s simple parchment stgyle background
is used to highlight rather than detract from the unique art on this
site. |
 |
The
site is hosted on a on a Cobalt RaQ (Linux) server. Site administration
tasks such as adding new users and administering email are provided
with a browser based set of screens. |
 |
The
actual art works are not displayed in simple rows and columns, but
instead are simply placed within the pages of the site. When a visitor
clicks on any of the images, they are linked to a more detailed description
of that artwork with dimensions and prices as well. |
 |
A
simple order form that accepts and submits the customer information
to the client is used rather than a complete secure shopping cart
solution in order to help build the personal customer relationship
that Jewels of Clay has cultivated over the years. |
