All
original graphics were designed with an Hawaiian theme. Bamboo framed
'leather' buttons and navigation elements add to the Hawaiian feel
of the site. White background was used to emphasize the fabrics and
offer a more contemporary look. |

The
site is hosted on a on a Windows 2000 server. The back end database
is currently Microsoft Access due to be scaled up to SQL Server when
the size of the database grows to a point where the performance may
degrade. |

The
product catalog, including uploading all images, is maintained using
one simple form within the administration area. Images for each fabric
are uploaded to the server, resized to a proper display size, and
a thumbnail image generated automatically using custom tags in Cold
Fusion. |

The home page for the site features an area below the large custom
designed logo for the client to display custom content updateable
at any time by submitting a form to upload their desired content.
Additionally, below that is a section with thumbnail images of featured
products, also completely maintainable by the client using simple
administrative functions. |

A
custom designed shopping cart application was designed using Cold
Fusion and Macromedia UltraDev for this client. Because of the similarities
with another fabric site, we were able to leverage the existing development
costs designing this web site, saving the client a great deal of money
while still providing a completely custom system. |

In
addition to the normal shopping cart administration functions such
as normal order processing, we also provided HawaiianFabric.com with
flexible sales reporting functions and an email followup system to
contact their customers ordering from the site. |
